Forum Diskurs International ist eine Veranstaltungsreihe des ISM-Kuratoriums zu internationalen linken Perspektiven.
Nach den Wahlen in Spanien am 23. Juli werden wir die politische Situation in einem Land mit einer starken Spaltung zwischen Links und Rechts und einer Geschichte regionaler Unabhängigkeitsbewegungen diskutieren. In unserem zweiten ISM-Digitalforum Diskurs International sprechen wir mit Enric Bataller i Ruiz, der das Ergebnis der Wahlen analysiert und die politische Zukunft des Landes einschätzt.

Enric Bataller i Ruiz war von 2015 bis 2019 Abgeordneter im spanischen Parlament für die valencianische Partei Compromís. Jetzt initiiert er eine neue politische Formation Vía Mediterránea, die die Regionen als politischen Knotenpunkt in einer globalisierten Welt zurückfordert. Diese Partei ist ein Kernmitglied der Koalition "Valencianischer Wohlfahrtsstaat" für die spanischen Parlamentswahlen im Juli 2023.
Johannes Angermuller ist Sprecher des ISM-Kuratoriums und Professor für Diskursforschung an der Open University in Großbritannien.
Moderation: Katrin Mohr ist Sozialwissenschaftlerin und politische Sekretärin im Bereich Grundsatzfragen und Gesellschaftspolitik beim Vorstand der IG Metall und ebenfalls Sprecherin des ISM-Kuratoriums.

Discourse International on the political Situation in Spain

Forum Discourse International is a series of events organized by the ISM Scientific Council highlighting international perspectives from the left.
After the Spanish elections on July 23rd, we will discuss the political situation in a country with a strong division between Left and Right and a history of regional independence movements. In our second ISM digital forum Discourse International, we will talk with Enric Bataller i Ruiz, who will analyse the outcome of the elections and assess the political future of the country.

Enric Bataller i Ruiz was a member of the Spanish parliament for the Valencian party Compromís between 2015 and 2019. He is now initiating a new political formation Vía Mediterránea, which reclaims the regions as a political nodal point in a globalising world. This party is a core member of the coalition “Valencian Welfare State” for the Spanish general elections in July 2023.
Johannes Angermuller is spokesperson for the ISM Scientific Council and Professor of Discourse Research at the Open University in the UK.
